COACH Michelle

Meet Coach Michelle!

LEVEL 2 CERTIFIED CROSSFIT TRAINER

I’m Michelle Bell. I have been doing CrossFit for 13 years. I got my L1 pretty quick, within a year of starting, but my first introduction to a CrossFit seminar was taking a course on Pose method. Many years and CrossFit seminars later, I got my L2 in 2022.

Why did you start CrossFit?

I was on a weight loss journey when I found a Zumba/Yoga/Pilates studio. After many nights watching what looked like boot camp class (which was actually CrossFit), do barbell work and pull ups and it was mostly women. My interest got the best of me, I grabbed my husband to try a class with me, we did Helen, I beat him, and I was hooked.

What motivates you?

My personal health and wellness motivates me. But being an example to my kids has kept me going. I have 2 boys who have always been into sports. Trusting my advice and opinions on training means a lot. From the time I started, watching people work on becoming the best version of themself and knowing that I was a catalyst in their success is such a highlight in my life

What's the most rewarding thing about coaching?

Watching people discover they can do something they have never tried or wouldn’t if they didn’t try a CrossFit gym (pull ups, rope climbs, handstands, etc) or finding a skill they didn’t even know they would be good at, lights a fire in me. After all these years, the level of excitement I get for people achieving or discovering something new is unmatched.

Favorite CrossFit movement? The snatch is my most favorite lift. But I also love jump roping and handstand push ups.

Favorite CrossFit WOD? DT and Cindy

What's a misconception about CrossFit?

That you have be fit or a certain skill level to start. I love to debunk this by sharing a movement and sharing the different progressions to get there. Letting people know joining a gym is so helpful because you wouldn’t know that on your own. Let us help you!

What do you like doing outside of the gym?

My favorite hobbies are hiking and snowboarding. I’m an all seasons, get outside kind of person. I’m also a huge supporter of everything my kids (really man-children at this point) do - I will drop everything to be at my youngest son’s track meets or test dummy for my older son’s physical therapy practice.
